Description:
Dalmarnock is one of the largest beats on the Tay, almost 3 miles, double bank and is situated about three miles downstream from the confluence of the Tay and Tummel.
Dalmarnock is available for daily individual rod bookings and also daily or weekly exclusive use when a minimum 8 rods must be taken. However a party can reserve additional rods if they wish, paying on a pro-rata basis.
Dalmarnock comprises classic fly water with easy wading as well as lovely spinning & harling water with 15 named pools. The average catch over the past 4 years is over 190 fish making it one of the most prolific beats on the middle/upper Tay.
New to the market, Dalmarnock has been privately fished until now. East Haugh House Hotel in Pitlochry, the Scottish country Sports Hotel of the Year 2005/2007, has taken on the lease and is offering both day rods and weekly lets. As one of the largest beats on the Tay, it is perfect for large corporate parties. With a new fishing hut going in in March , & toilets, it is ideal for corporate lunches with a barbecue and verandah overlooking the water.
Our full time ghillie is available to all the rods on a daily basis. A personal ghillie and boat are available for traditional harling @ £100 per day. This can cover a single rod or a larger party of rods who can rotate their party in the boat throughout the day. We can arrange personal bank ghillies for the day for tuition, Spey casting etc., & all tackle hire. We also have a good selection of flies, lures & lines for sale in the hut.
The beat has good vehicular access throughout & excellent for disabled fishers.
There is also a lovely 3 bedroomed, 3 bathroomed cottage, “Woodlands,” set above the beat with wrap-around views of the Tay Valley-perfect for a fishing party on a weekly let. Woodlands is from £650 per week.
Accommodation:
East Haugh House Hotel is very well situated for fishing Dalmarnock as only 10 mins north up the A9. As Scottish Country Sports Hotel we offer all services for fishermen- flexible dining times, packed lunches, drying rooms, rod storage, roaring fires, superb food and a well stocked bar.

If you wish to put on additional rods for your weekly let you would pay the daily rate for that time of year but no rods will be sold to people outside your party. The average catch figures for the past 4 years were over 190 fish.
The Malloch Trophy:
Sponsored by Savills, this Tropy is for the heaviest fresh Salmon caught and returned on the Tay each year and is one of the most coveted awards on the Tay- please do enter your fish with photo verification and confirmation from your Gillie – fish which have been killed will not count!
