Built originally as part of the Atholl Estate some 350 years ago, East Haugh House is a beautiful, turreted stone house situated off the old A9 road with beautiful woodland walks and easy access to Pitlochry. Having bought the house in 1989, the McGown family converted it in to a small, very personally family run hotel, retaining many of the interesting features of the house. East Haugh House also took over a fishing beat on the river Tay 3 years ago enabling guests to book a day’s Salmon fishing and catch that fish of a life time!

With 13 individually designed bedrooms, including three deluxe four-poster rooms (one with its own fireplace) and whirlpool bathrooms, along with two self-catering cottages, East Haugh House is hailed as one of Scotland’s “hidden gems” with the “best food in the area”

Ryder Cup Accommodation 2014

It will be the first time in more than 40 years that the Ryder Cup had been played in the home of Golf, Scotland, and we are so proud to have it back.!

Gleneagles is host to the Ryder Cup for 2014 which is a mere 40 min drive from East Haugh House. However, the best form of transport is a direct train link from Pitlochry to Gleneagles Train station where buses will be ferrying people to the event.

We are in the process of putting together an inclusive package for up 30 delegates to take the whole hotel . We also have a self catering cottage sleeping 7/9 guests, 25 minutes from Gleneagles.
