Lesley and Niall

We stayed with you earlier this year before going on to Dunkeld for a LandRover Experience day. I wrote to you after our stay but please feel free to put these comments on your website.

Our room was very comfortable with a huge bathroom and lovely sitting area and, as promised, very quiet despite being situated near the A9. We were very warmly welcomed by Lesley, and later Niall, and were given a very comprehensive guide to the hotel. The bar, where we dined, was warm and cosy and dinner itself was plentiful, delicious and beautifully cooked. Breakfast was again very well cooked with lots of choices. We certainly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning - hopefully for more than one night next time.

After fishing other beats over the previous 6 years I would like to take the time to say that anyone thinking of either starting Salmon fishing or trying a new water would find it near impossible to top the service of East Haugh House Hotel and its river beat.

The team in the Hotel headed by Neil, Lesley and Sophie are the best at what they do, and over the last year they have become like great friends, even when I’m not fishing I’m in contact with them and their Ghillie Colin.

They are honest, forthright and out and out friendly as they come, and nothing is too much trouble! The rooms are superb ( I’ve practically stayed in everyone) , the food is to die for, and their river beat on the Tay is breathtaking! To top it off they have a Ghillie most beats would kill for! Colin is an amazing guy with unbelievable knowledge of the river.

If its your first time I cannot emphasise how great Colin is and the confidence he brings you, if your an old hand on the salmon I would still advise to book him! I can’t say enough about Colin on the river or the team at the hotel!

Mike and I would like to thank Neil, Lesley, Sophie and all the staff at East Haugh for looking after us again. We had a fantastic time and as usual, came home with happy minds and full bellies! Firstly I would like to say a huge thank-you to everyone at East Haugh House, extremely friendly and courteous staff, nothing ever too much trouble. The quality of the rooms (especially the Jacuzzi baths!!), the food… everything was just superb.

We over slept one and a half hours for breakfast, it was then cooked and served charmingly and willingly, with an extra pot of tea with us leaving the dinning room at 11.30. Could you ask for more?

Thank you so much for the wonderful stay. The owners were on holiday and we'd really like them to know their "temporary" help did an outstanding job filling in. The food and atmosphere were fabulous! The staff were courteous, professional and very friendly. We will definitely stay again!!

Dear Lesley, Neil and Sophie,

I have been meaning to drop you a line to say thank you for your hospitality during our recent stay for Andrew's 40th birthday over the Easter holiday. We all had the most wonderful time, the hotel was absolutely splendid and the food to die for (I am now on a diet!), but most of all the personal touch we received from you all was heartwarming - it's very obvious how rightly proud you all are of your achievements and that came across in the warm welcome you extended towards us.

We will certainly look forward to another visit to you sometime - Andrew, my husband, has now caught the salmon-fishing-in-Perthshire-bug - and will contact you when we want to arrange another booking. A word of warning, however - my daughter, Elanor, wants to come back and steal Lucy-Lou away!! Many thanks once again.

"I just wanted to say the we did thoroughly enjoy our recent stay with you. We particularly enjoyed the meal. We were told by yourselves when I enquired about booking a room that your food was superb. I have to say that with the overuse of superlatives nowadays I wasn't getting overly excited but I have to say we were genuinely impressed. We both thought it was just the nicest meal we can remember. My wife is vegetarian and you did her proud with some kind of deep fried brie I think. She is often short changed on the vegetarian front, so she was particularly delighted."

Other than that the two best things about the hotel were definitely the service (what a lovely family) and the food which was consistently delicious. My only comment would be that I liked it much more than I thought I was going to after looking at the website which I don't think make it clear how much better the place was from most average Scottish hotels."
