Directions and mapping
Pitlochry is one of the real perennial favourite ‘honeypot’ destinations – ‘must visits’ - amongst travellers to Scotland, and for holidays and short breaks in Scotland - and Perthshire in particular - and is an easy drive, particularly from Edinburgh and Glasgow – but also from Aberdeen and Inverness - making it a superb destination for a weekend break ‘escape’ from the city ‘smoke and hurly burly’, and its status as the 'gateway to the Highlands', means of course that you're in the heart of some breath-taking scenery.
You’ll easily find East Haugh House Hotel one mile south of Pitlochry in the small, quiet and picturesque village of East Haugh. It is a beautiful 17th century turreted stone house, built as part of the Atholl Estate and set in 2 acres of gardens close to the lovely River Tummel.
The house has been sympathetically, yet rather spectacularly, converted to a small, award winning personally run country house hotel not only providing stunning leisure and romantic breaks, and glorious culinary experiences, but also specialising in providing top quality fishing and fieldsports for guests. Neil and Lesley McGown who run East Haugh are both keen fishers themselves. The surrounfing local area is as rich in interest and diversity as anywhere in Scotland (‘Perthshire - All of Scotland’) also offers superb golf courses, famous castles and distilleries, sensational mixed walking and climbing, thrilling adventure activities and watersports in stunning countryside and terrain - and lovely pony trekking at nearby Blair castle and Atholl Estates..
A delightful retreat, perfect for totally relaxing weekend breaks, short breaks, or extended vacation in glorious Perthshire in the heart of Scotland..
Getting to East Haugh is easy no matter what your mode of travel.
